Yoga: Food For The Soul

Yoga

When I first started yoga, there was a teacher named Dharma and she was a smooth talker. Her voice and wisdom was really food for the soul. At the end of the session, she would have us sit in meditation and tap in to our energy source. So if you don’t mind, I want to try it with you.

To start off, I want you to take a moment to sit still despite whatever is going on around you. Close your eyes. We are going to breathe in with awareness. 3 deep breathes. Now, I want you to think about one person that’s near and dear to your heart. Someone you love, admire and cherish to the depths of your soul. It can be someone who is still here on earth or someone who has moved on from earth. Imagine that person is right here, right next to you. Really feel that feeling of love. Go on, do that now.

Do you feel it?

That is your source energy of love. It is always within you. It never goes away. You don’t need anyone to feel that feeling, because you are the source of it. You are an abundance of love. You are love. And you can tap in at any time.

Wow, that’s amazing right? That was a major ah-hah moment for me, because I had been searching for this love for forever. I searched everywhere, but mostly in all the wrong places. I searched for love in food, clothes, boys, drugs, alcohol. It was all a hoax. A generic kind of love. But there was nothing like the love I felt that day. It was my love and I gave it to myself. Genius Dharma. Freaking, genius.

I was so easily giving my energy away to things I thought would heal me. But those things didn’t heal me, they drained me. And instead of draining myself. I used that same energy to heal myself.

Let’s end with an affirmation. Repeat after me, “I love myself. I accept myself. I believe in myself.” One more time, and say it like you really mean it cause that’s where the magic happens, “I love myself! I accept myself! I believe in myself!”

You are your own source of love and abundance. Nobody can give it to you, because you always bring forth that energy. And you give it to yourself. And then you give it to other people. Remember that.

With love,
The girl that’s getting unstuck
